The School Leadership Team (SLT) is composed of Selwyn parents, teachers and administrators. We will elect 4 new parent members to the SLT at the April 30 General PTA Meeting. We are looking for volunteers, or nominations, for new parent members. SLT parent terms are three school years. We meet 4-5 times per year. Please email the SLT parent co-chair Ghazale Johnston, if you have questions about the SLT, the position, or are interested in being nominated. The deadline for nominations is April 15.
You did it Selwyn! Thanks to the generous participation of FIFTY PERCENT (50%) of our Selwyn families, we raised $112,118 for the 2014-15 Building Blocks Campaign allowing us to exceed our $100,000 dollar goal by over $12,000!
A HUGE and heartfelt thank you to each of the 300 families who showed their support for Selwyn and Billingsville by standing up and proudly saying “COUNT ME IN”. Click here to view a list of donors. Your generosity is critical in helping our teachers further enrich the educational experiences and lives of each of our students. We could not have done it without YOU!
A special part of our Building Blocks Campaign is allowing donors to designate a certain portion of their donation to go to our Schoolmates Partner, Billingsville Leadership Academy. Again, THANKS TO YOU, we raised $12,000 for Billingsville for the 2014-15 school year! They are overwhelmed and overjoyed by the wonderful support from Selwyn families.

Join us the evening of Thursday, March 12 at TWC Arena at the Charlotte Checkers match to cheer on both our home team as well as our fabulous Selwyn Chorus and Student Council members! The Chorus will be singing as Student Council raises the flag before the 7:00 pm game! Purchase your tickets for $13.00 each and join us! Click here for a flyer with more information. Are you interested in having your company logo on the back of every Selwyn student, on brochures and flyers sent home to all Selwyn families, as well as on our school’s great new website? The Selwyn PTA is currently looking for sponsors for this year’s Red Ribbon Reading program. RRR is our summer reading fundraiser where students set reading goals, find sponsors and raise money for Selwyn! This is a great opportunity to promote your business while being part of our community and school.
Invitations for the Selwyn Parent Party, scheduled for Friday, February 27th, 7:00 to 10:00 pm, will be going home in bags later this week. This lively event will take place at Maverick Rock Taco. For $14 per person ($28 per couple), you can mix and mingle with other Selwyn parents right in our own backyard. This price includes heavy hors d’oeuvres, too.
