Count Me In! Invest in Selwyn

Our annual Building Blocks fundraiser kicks off February 1, and this year we’re hoping to raise enough money for a Makerspace Lab!

Building Blocks helps fund capital improvements (larger purchases) such as technology, playground equipment, water fillers, and classroom libraries. Gifts are confidential, and no contribution is too small. They are also tax deductible.

Have you ever wondered what Building Blocks funds or have questions about the campaign?
Join us for informal parent meetings to learn more about how your gift can make an impact.

Meetings are scheduled for January 29 at 7:00 pm (Grades 3-5) and February 7 at 7:00 pm (Grades K-2).

Look for grade level emails with all the details.

New Tardy/Absence Incentive for Students

In an effort to cut down on student tardies and absences, we would like to start a new incentive for students. If a student has no tardies or absences in a month, there will be some type of Selwyn spirit day on the last day of each month. All this will require from you, is that on the day before the last school day of the month, you let your students know if they are permitted to participate in the spirit day. You will find this information on PowerSchool.

The first Selwyn Spirit day will be on January 31and will be Crazy Hat Day. We will be sharing this information on WSEL next week and it will also be in the Eagle Email for the whole month of January. Dr. Harris will also send a Connect Ed the night prior to our first Spirit Day. We will need your help in making sure you accurately document tardies and enforce who can and cannot participate in the spirit day.

Save the Date For Selwyn’s 1st Annual Grandparents / Special Friends Day

Selwyn Giving Tree

We’re excited to continue the tradition of the Selwyn Giving Tree and spreading kindness to children in need.

If you’d like to donate a toy, item of clothing, or gift card, please sign out an ornament from the tree in the front office by recording the code in the log book next to the tree. Please wrap the gift in a gift bag or re-sealable gift box, securely attach the ornament to the gift, and return the gift to the main office, Mrs. Baer, or Ms. Manning by Thursday, December 13. Thanks so much for your support!

Bring on the Books!
