Parent Party at Park Lanes

Don’t miss the annual Selwyn Parent Party on Friday, March 9 from 7:00-9:00pm at 10 Park Lanes (1700 Montford Drive)! $12 per person/$24 per couple. Come mingle with other Selwyn parents while enjoying heavy hors d’oeuvres, drink specials, college basketball, and raffle drawings.

A Tale Not to be Missed! Our School Play is Coming Soon!

Mark your calendars and bring the whole family to our annual Selwyn School Play! Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr. is on Thursday, March 1 and Friday, March 2 at 7:00 pm in the Selwyn gym.

Many of our 5th graders have been hard at work after school getting ready for the big productions, which will feature a different cast on Thursday and Friday! Doors open at 6:30 pm. Tickets available at the door for $5 – no advance
sales. Children who are 5th grade and under are free!

This year we have included an option to add a scholarship book to your order. By purchasing a scholarship book, you can help us ensure ALL children who want a yearbook receive one. Simply type SCHOLARSHIP BOOK in the student First and Last Name field, then choose UNSPECIFIED for Grade.

Let’s Dance!!

Grab your space gear and your dance shoes because Selwyn’s annual dance party will be a stellar event! Join us Friday, February 23 from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm in the Multi-purpose Room where we’ll have a DJ, treats, games and more!

RSVP via email on or before Tuesday, February 20 with the name of your oldest Selwyn student and the number of children and adults in your party.

This event is limited to Selwyn students and their immediate family only. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please adhere to Selwyn’s dress code.

Volunteer Day at Billingsville Elementary

Selwyn’s Schoolmates committee is looking for volunteers to help with an upcoming Volunteer Day Wednesday, February 28 at our sister school, Billingsville Elementary.

Volunteers are needed for a variety of jobs – laminating, making copies, helping organize resource rooms, etc. If you are interested in helping out, please sign up here.

Sip ‘N Learn – Counselor Coffee

Selwyn Support Staff will host a Parent Coffee on Thursday, January 18, 2018at 10:00 am.You spoke and we listened! Based on feedback from the recent Parent Needs Assessment, we will present and discuss information about Peer Relationships. Come find out what is really behind bullying, bothersome and mean moments. Get tips to help your children navigate the ups and downs of making and maintaining friendships, and ways to help them effectively resolve conflicts.

Building Blocks

The 2017-2018 Building Blocks campaign will officially begin on January 8. Building Blocks is Selwyn’s annual capital campaign that funds critical needs for classroom equipment, technology, and instructional resources for our children. Look for materials to come home in January with additional details.

Although the campaign will officially kick off in the new year, families who would like to make a contribution in 2017 may do so by mail or online. Please make checks payable to Selwyn PTA, memo: Building Blocks. Or you can click here to make an online donation.

Remember, if you make your contribution prior to 12/31/17, it can be tax deductible for 2017!

Make a Difference in the Life of a Child: Become a Literacy Tutor!

Augustine Literacy Project provides free, one-on- one instruction in reading, writing and spelling to struggling readers in high poverty schools. We train and support tutors- giving tutors and students the tools for success!
