On Tuesday, April 25, the CMS staff presented a proposal to the CMS School Board on student assignment for the 2018-19 school year. The Selwyn attendance zone will be modified if this proposal is approved. The 2016-17 map with the area affected highlighted is available here. Once the official proposed map is released from CMS, it will be made available to our families. Under the proposal, the students currently attending from this area would be assigned to Beverly Woods Elementary and feed into Carmel Middle School and South Mecklenburg High School beginning with the 2018-19 school year. Information sessions on the proposed Phase II student assignment boundary changes will be conducted from May 1-11. Each session will focus on particular boundary recommendations and include information specific to the affected communities. CMS leaders will be available to answer your questions and hear your feedback. The session for the proposed Selwyn changes will be held on Tuesday, May 2nd on the Selwyn campus beginning at 5:30 pm. All of the proposed changes for CMS are in the Board presentation. Please refer to the PTA website for contact information for School Board representatives.
