Beginners' Day

Beginners’ Day takes place in the Spring to welcome new Selwyn kindergarteners to our school! Join other Selwyn families to meet the kindergarten teachers, visit a classroom, tour a school bus, and learn all about our programs available to your family.
Transferring Families
(Parent & 1st– 5th Grade Student Event)
Transferring families can learn more about Selwyn at our family event that takes place in August. Transferring families include students enrolling in 1st- 5th grade that are moving from out-of-state, making a change from a private school, or moving from another school in the area.

Yes, when you complete the enrollment checklist at Selwyn, you are automatically enrolled in CMS.
- Open House is a parent-focused event for families who want to learn more about Selwyn for their rising kindergarten student.
- If you are unable to attend our Open House in October, please register for a school tour.
- All rising kindergarteners and parents are encouraged to attend Beginners’ Day in May.
- Students registered with CMS for grades 1st- 5th are encouraged to attend our Transferring Families event in August and take a tour of our school.
No, CMS registration is not required. Any family interested in learning more about Selwyn for their rising kindergartener is welcome to attend. However, we highly encourage you to RSVP to reserve your spot. Enrolling at Selwyn prior to Beginners’ Day automatically reserves your child’s spot for the event.
No, it is not required. While attendance is encouraged, we do recognize that scheduling conflicts happen. You can enroll your child to attend Selwyn, and you can also sign up for a tour when it’s convenient for you.
Families of registered kindergarteners will have another opportunity to visit Selwyn before school starts for a tour and Q&A session in August. Look for details in our Eagle Email. Click here to sign up for Eagle Email.
We open our doors at 7:15am and carpool drop off begins. The school day starts at 7:45am and ends at 2:45pm.
